(Slightly modified from my mom's yummy meatloaf recipe...)
MEATLOAF:
1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef (get it as lean as you can, trust me)
3/4 cup milk (you can add a little more if the mixture is too dry)
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon salt
onion powder or finely chopped onion to taste (I used about 3 Tablespoons onion powder)
garlic powder or minced garlic to taste (I used 2 chopped up garlic cloves)
3/4 cup bread crumbs
Mix together and place in a baking dish (9 x 13 is too big for this recipe... see what you have that's smaller).
SAUCE:
3 teaspoons brown sugar
3 Tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
Combine and pour over meatloaf. Hint: I double the sauce recipe - it's really tasty and I like a lot of the sauce on mine.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. The leaner the beef you can use, the better - otherwise you may have to pour out a lot of grease near the end of the cooking time.
